Rising Stars Programme
Workshop 1- What is leadership and management? Participants will explore the difference between leadership and management, consider different leadership styles and reflect on what makes an effective leader and manager. We will introduce the mini project (to be completed between workshops 3 & 4). The mini project is an opportunity to implement the skills learned from this programme. Workshop 2- Exploring behaviours and attitudes. Participants will explore potential challenges to leading a team, including, managing friends, managing people with different behaviours and attitudes and change management. Participants will gain skills and strategies to manage team issues, lead change and address performance management concerns. Workshop 3- Understanding my role in excellent teaching. Do you know your pedagogy and how to provide and lead excellent teaching? During this workshop, participants will explore their own teaching preferences and plan their mini project to bring about an improvement to their setting/room and implement the learning gained from the programme. Workshop 4- Mini projects review Participants will return to workshop 4 following 3 months of implementing the learning gained from the programme. During this session participants will share their mini projects with the group, celebrate the successes and develop individual action plans.

PSCP Basic awareness safeguarding children - Spring 2020
You will be able to recognise signs and symptoms which may be indicators of abuse, know how to safe guard children the appropriate action to take for a range of concerns. This will be achieved through a combination of tutor led learning and discussion, small and large group work and case studies.

Writers in Reception - the mechanics and the motivations
This workshop will take you on a journey through gross motor to fine motor skill development and beyond to the place where we can truly engage and sustain children's interest and excitement to write! We will consider how creativity and imagination are key elements of successful writers and always hold onto the fact that "writing floats on a sea of talk"

Bouncing Babies
This workshop explores the role of a baby room practitioner in enabling attachment, preparing an appropriate environment, care routine and learning experiences that meet the needs of the youngest children in our settings.

Supporting children learning English as an additional language in your early years setting
This workshop, run in partnership with EMAS, will delve into the world of children who are learning English as an additional language (EAL).

Managing Generation Z
This workshop will explore how Early Years settings are adapting to the particular needs of the youngest members of the workforce and reflect on the positives and challenges of a multi-generational staff team.

This session is for Early Years SENCOs and practitioners who have an interest in, or are currently supporting a child with possible ASD.

The Great Outdoors
This workshop empowers practitioners, giving them the skills to ensure their outdoor environment aids the development of all of the children in their setting. It also raises practitioners' awareness of the national recommendations for physical activity in Early Years settings and in so doing helps combat the rising obesity rate.
