New to Year R cluster - Autumn Term 2020
A valuable opportunity for those new or returning to Year R to hear key messages about the EYFS, discuss a range of key themes e.g. the enabling learning environment, effective routines, how to plan stimulating and experiential learning for children in Year R and how to ensure application of this learning in child initiated play. We will also focus on assessment within the EYFS and the journey towards the Early Learning Goals. Each cluster is held in a Year R classroom, so provides an opportunity to consider what an enabling environment looks like.

Young Minds Matter!
'At present, 1 in ten children and young people suffer from mental health problems. Evidence of symptoms are demonstrated through depression, anxiety and behavioural disorders. Positive mental health enables children to develop their resilience and grow into well-rounded adults' (Mind, 2015). Poor mental health in childhood is associated with a number of negative outcomes in later life, including poorer educational attainment and employment prospects. Join our research based session to understand how you can support children in your setting.

As Easy as ABCC - Part 1 of 2
The first day of this workshop will focus on the reasons behind the different behaviours our EY children present and how that might be impacted by routines, environment, policy and procedure. We will explore different techniques e.g. assertive language and conflict resolution and the use of analytical tools and planning to meet behaviour needs. The second day of this workshop will focus on what to do when the plan doesn’t work!
