A day in life of Year R - support for those supporting in Year R

Understanding what Year R is all about

Have you recently started working in Year R?

Are you enjoying it? Are you confused? Are you wondering how it can be so different to key stage 1?

This workshop is for teaching assistants and teachers who are new to year R or who want to develop their understanding of the principles and practices of the EYFS.
We will explore the world of making observations, delve into the role of the adult in child initiated play and consider how we can make the biggest impact on learning in the early years.

By the end of this workshop you will:

  • Understand the principles of the EYFS
  • Know how to make effective and informative observations
  • Be able to confidently take yourself into child initiated play and move learning forwards
