PSCP Basic Safeguarding - autumn 2020

Learn about what to look out for and what to do for safeguarding concerns in Portsmouth.

Outline

Early Years Quality and Sufficiency officers will lead the Portsmouth Safeguarding Children Partnership (PSCP) basic safeguarding module and guide you towards meeting your Ofsted requirements, ensuring you have up to date safeguarding knowledge.

Description

To provide introductory training on how to work together to safeguard and promote the welfare of children who might be at risk of abuse or neglect in the Early Years.

Outcomes

By the end of this workshop you will:
  • Recognise potential indicators of child maltreatment: physical, emotional and sexual abuse and neglect.
  • Be able to follow local policies and procedures.
  • Be able to identify what action to take when you have safeguarding concern including to whom you should report your concerns to and seek advice and support from.
