This cluster will enable teachers or TAs who are new to or who have recently returned to Year R to build their understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and the EYFS Profile.
A valuable opportunity for those new or returning to Year R to hear key messages about the EYFS, discuss a range of key themes e.g. the enabling learning environment, effective routines, how to plan stimulating and experiential learning for children in Year R and how to ensure application of this learning in child initiated play. We will also focus on assessment within the EYFS and the journey towards the Early Learning Goals. Each cluster is held in a Year R classroom, so provides an opportunity to consider what an enabling environment looks like.
By the end of this workshop you will:
- Have developed your understanding of the EYFS - the learning and development requirements.
- Be able to reflect on an enabling environment and the routines for children within the Year R classroom
- Understand assessment in Year R and the requirements of the EYFS Profile.
Booking to be made via this website. Queries to the Early Years Workforce team at EYWorkforce@portsmouthcc.gov.uk or by telephone on 023 92 841974
