Practical ideas to embed learning

Roll up your sleeves and get practical in this workshop that explores mark making, physical development and active learning.

Outline

This workshop is practical and active and you will come away with a range of ideas to take back and implement in your setting immediately.

Description

In the first part of this workshop we will explore what active learning looks like in your setting. We will consider how children learn and how we can exploit their natural curiosities to impact on their learning and development.
Then it will be time to roll your sleeves up!
You will be able to visit a number of work stations to hear from our experts. We will explore the theory behind a range of approaches to develop physical and writing skills and then be able to have a go yourself!

Outcomes

By the end of this workshop you will:

  • Understand the vital importance of nurturing active learning in our settings
  • Take away a range of practical approaches to support learning
  • Know how to embed and extend learning in a range of contexts, but specifically child initiated play
