Britain has undergone rapid economic and social change over the last few decades and we live in an increasingly diverse society. Early Years practitioners play an essential role in preparing children for life in modern Britain. How we promote and develop children's understanding of fundamental British values is often debated amongst our sector and practitioners report they still remain unclear of how this will be reflected by Ofsted in inspection.
This workshop will revisit the four British values and make reference to The Prevent duty to consider what this means in practice in the Early Years. You will gain ideas of how to effectively support children, parents and staff to embed these values in your setting.
By the end of this workshop you will:
- Feel confident in your knowledge and promotion of British values
- Be able to manage your Ofsted inspection effectively to demonstrate how you prepare children for life in modern Britain.
- Evaluate your current practice and identify priorities for improvement.
